Emulating Jesus: The Path to True Freedom
In the journey of discipleship, Freedom That Lasts teaches us that true freedom isn’t the absence of rules—it’s the presence of righteousness. Nowhere is that more clearly seen than in the life of Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate picture of what it means to live in spiritual freedom: fully submitted to the Father, filled with the Spirit, and driven by love.
To emulate Jesus is to embrace the very heart of Freedom That Lasts: transformation from the inside out. Jesus didn’t just do the right things; He delighted in the Father’s will (Psalm 40:8). His actions were the overflow of a heart fully aligned with truth. That’s what we’re aiming for in our own lives—moving from external behavior management to inward heart change.
Jesus walked in perfect obedience, but not to earn favor—He already had it. Likewise, when we understand our identity in Christ, we don’t serve to gain acceptance but because we are accepted. That’s freedom! As Galatians 5:1 reminds us, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Jesus didn’t just model obedience—He made it possible.
Living like Christ means daily surrender to the Holy Spirit, choosing humility, and loving sacrificially. In Freedom That Lasts, we call this living by the Spirit in the context of grace-driven accountability. Jesus didn’t walk alone—and neither should we.
If you’re longing to be more like Jesus, don’t start with a checklist. Start with worship. Start with a heart that says, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” That’s where freedom begins. That’s where transformation grows. And that’s where we find joy—not in trying harder, but in walking with the One who makes us free indeed.
Are you walking in the freedom that lasts?
